CICADAS @ RAPAD
RAPAD (Remote Area Planning & Development Board) has commenced a community arts and cultural development regional service delivery pilot program across the Central West and South West areas of
Queensland.
This project is funded by a partnership between the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland and the Australia Council for the Arts through Community Partnerships to pilot regional service
delivery programs for the arts across Queensland.
PROJECT PURPOSE
The primary focus of the project is regional community arts and cultural development supporting communities to grow with their own identifiable strengths and to recognise and assist opportunities
for creative growth.
To achieve this the CICADAS will be engaging with the region using a variety of metods and consultations:
- Connect with a diverse cross section of community groups and key stake holders including Councils and their employed and elected representatives, Artists and Artisans, Community Groups, Arts and
Cultural Groups, Schools and similar institutions, related Industry sectors including Tourism and Retail.
- The purpose of the consultation is to identify local needs and gaps communities face as well as connet with community to develop a path that will enable them to achieve their cultural objectives
and maximise cultural development benefits.
- Assist to develop partnerships, collaborations and industry linkages that will build the capacity and resilience of the communtiy through cultural development and expression.
- Distribute information within the region that will inform communities of resources and regional activities and
- Showcase arts and cultural activities that make arts accessible, tangible and closely related to everyday life.
